Summary

The Chemical Engineer III role is a professional level position performing complex engineering functions on assigned or initiated programs, projects, or sub-projects of a specific nature by applying advanced mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

+ Responsible for the design and/or project/process management of new and current products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment in collaboration with higher level technical experts.

+ Develops test procedures and performs complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work.

+ Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, and makes recommendations for product, test equipment, procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.

+ Defines and acquires tooling, gauging and other equipment necessary to manufacture/inspect parts to assure product quality.

+ Partners with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.

+ Initiates evaluation and provide input regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety.

+ Recognized as an emerging subject matter expert within the business unit.

+ Provides mentorship, advice, and insight to other employees to ensure project and product compliance.

You Must Have

+ Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or bachelors of science degree in Physics from and accredited program.

+ Four or more years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.

+ Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

+ Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.

+ United States Citizenship.

+ Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
