What You Will Do

+ This position is an integral part of the site leadership team at the Collins Aerospace Power & Controls factory in Phoenix, AZ

+ Lead the tactical and strategic efforts of several materials departments, including internal Logistics, Packaging and Delivery, 3rd party Logistics, Production Control Planning, and Strategic Planning

+ Maintain compliance to all regulations, laws, and management system requirements.

+ Proactively reduce EH&S risks and promote safe behaviors in the workplace. Support all safety programs to include behavioral based safety and job hazard analysis (JHA); ensure that Operations is flawlessly executing all required safety programs.

+ Create financial forecasts and oversee material availability to support manufacturing production plans

+ Responsible for inventory management and monitoring performance of inventory/cash flow. Responsibilities also include reporting on inventory goals, risks and opportunities, and progress to site leadership and business unit leadership.

+ Advocate for site’s position regarding master production schedule to satisfy customer demand and meet business inventory metrics

+ Responsible to ensure work orders are created and released on-time to support manufacturing requirements and customer needs

+ Ensure ERP-related messages are maintained, as well as engineering change configurations within the ERP system

+ Manage 3rd party logistics provider to ensure on-time-to-deliver metrics are met, along with receiving, cycle counts, inventory shrinkage, and overall customer service level

+ Responsible for customer-owned inventory management and all associated audits

+ Ensure strategic planning, packaging/delivery, and production control planning coverage for manufacturing schedules to include weekends and holidays as needed

+ Responsible for monthly cycle counts, maintaining cycle count accuracy, and completing all other financial count requirements

+ Responsible for management of internal suppliers and improve delivery, communication, and overall performance where required

+ Support the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process to ensure that adequate material supply plan is aligned with the site’s resources & capacity

+ Drive employee engagement, foster positive culture, and execute strategic workforce planning initiatives

+ Foster a culture of teamwork and accountability within the business interfaces, leading and motivating the team through the development and performance management of employees

+ Champion Continuous Improvement using the CORE operating system and lean manufacturing initiatives such as Tiered Accountability, Gemba, Visual Management, Process Mapping, Kanban, 5S, Kaizen, & Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).

Qualifications You Must Have

+ Bachelor's Degree and 10 years’ experience in materials, operations management, supply chain management, program/project management, or similar environment; OR Master's Degree with 7 years of related experience

+ Prior experience interfacing with both internal & external customers and multiple levels of internal management

+ Prior experience in directing multi-disciplined teams with a demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities

+ Extensive proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications

Qualifications We Prefer

+ Prior leadership experience in the materials function in a manufacturing environment

+ Experience working with Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems, preferably but not limited to SAP

+ Knowledge of CORE Operating System

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
