Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a **Tool Control Engineering Manager 2** to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our facility in **Promontory Utah.**

**Roles and Responsibilities:**

This role will have responsibility in leading 12 to 15 tooling designers, planners and analysts. It is ultimately responsible for meeting the technical solutions involving tooling for all programs. The qualified candidate must be able to lead a diverse group to effectively meet tool requirements for safety, quality, functionality, and manufacturability as well as the program requirements for cost and schedule. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are strongly needed.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ BS Degree in Engineering or other technical field with 8 years of experience.

+ Must have good communication and technical presentation skills.

+ Experience in tooling design preferred but not required.

+ Project management experience including responsibility for technical design, installation, budget and schedule.

+ Excellent problem solving skills and proven leadership of cross functional teams in resolving complex technical issues (product and processing equipment).

+ Knowledge and experience with both high hazard and inert processes.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Prior Engineering Management role

+ Experience managing a team of engineers across disciplines.

+ Experience with propellant/explosives

**Additional Responsibilities:**

+ Drive technical excellence by ensuring department meets technical standards.

+ Set role and performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and performance appraisals.

+ Develop subordinates.

+ Provide overall leadership and direction to the department (to include coaching team members, resolving conflict, reviewing performance, and initiating corrective actions if necessary)

+ Detailed understanding of process control through SPC, SQC or other process monitoring techniques.

+ Champion company values, especially safety.

+ Drive timely and clearly communicated decisions and recommendations.

+ Manage or provide input including cost estimates for technical proposals.

+ Oversee capital/Direct project budgets and schedule assigned to Tooling Engineering.

+ Manpower planning and forecasting.

+ Manage resources to support program schedules, balancing needs, priorities and cost

+ Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, and mentoring/coaching others in rapid problem solving and improvement.

**Salary Range:** $119,300 - $178,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
