Job Summary:
HVAC Supervisors are HVAC contractors who oversee the residential work done by HVAC installers on a job site. They are responsible for ensuring that all safety and compliance standards are met and to provide technical assistance when necessary. Supervisors must follow and comply with State and local building codes when they install these systems. In addition to verifying a home's HVAC system meets code and is installed to blueprint, supervisors may also verify builder schedules, utilize electronic equipment for planning and installation tasks.
HVAC Supervisor Responsibilities:
• Designing and implementing work schedules for the installation staff.
• Providing motivation and assistance when necessary.
• Inspecting and assessing the work done by the installation staff.
• Reading and interpreting design schematics to ensure the proper installation of HVAC systems.
• Troubleshooting system failures and equipment malfunctions.
• Ensuring the work is completed on schedule and to code.
• Maintaining a safe and clean work area.
• Consulting with builders, installers, and other workers on-site.
HVAC Supervisor Requirements:
• Proven work experience as a residential HVAC installer/ technician.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills.
• In depth knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with state HVAC and safety codes.
• Basic computer skills.
• A good eye for detail.
