Job description
Assist Facilities and Equipment Maintenance technicians in maintaining and repairing facilities and equipment. Assists with preventive/predictive maintenance work. Maximizes production uptime while maintaining excellent safety, human relations, quality, and environmental standards. Performs facilities cleaning duties, as necessary.
Specific Job Responsibilities
Primary Work
Follows all Safety procedures, practices, and protocols. Follows proper grounding and bonding. Follows protocols for working in an explosion-proof workplace. Takes action to correct unsafe acts, systems, and procedures.
Ensure all work is conducted safely and effectively and all applicable procedures, policies, and regulations are followed completely and correctly.
Complies with Lockout/tag-out procedures,
Participates and is fully engaged in continuous reliability improvement of all equipment and processes.
Perform minor repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance on production equipment and facilities.
Assists in maintaining production and facilities equipment.
Documents work performed and results of work, tests or inspections performed as required on facilities and production equipment. Maintains accurate records or logs.
Able to work independently and take initiative when necessary as well as capable of working as a member of a team and in conjunction with other departments.
Assists operators and technicians with equipment, as necessary.
Assists contractors performing services to the facility and equipment.
Assists manager in maintaining spare parts or consumables inventory.
Able to multitask and coordinate multiple jobs at one time.
Must be able to use and maintain basic tools and measuring equipment pertinent to their specific position.
Maintains Facility grounds and common areas to ensure they are operational, safe, and clean.
Non-routine Work
Empty satellite waste containers into the waste compactor.
Empty recycle bins into recycling dumpsters as necessary
Empty facilities trash containers as necessary
Secondary Work
General Housekeeping facility-wide
Assists other departments as necessary
Key Interactions and Relationships
The Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Helper interacts with Maintenance team members, direct support supervisor, all departments, departments’ directors, managers, and supervisors.
Qualifications
Experienced in basic facilities upkeep.
Experienced with basic painting, carpentry, plumbing, electric, and minor equipment repairs.
Able to operate various power tools and attachments.
Ability to effectively communicate and follow up via in-person meetings, email, and logs.
Comfortable working with/around chemicals.
Able to work from a ladder, man-basket, or scissor lift.
Able to lift 50 pounds.
Able to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and kneel.
Good mechanical aptitude.
Capable of working with little or no supervision.

Must be organized and possess extreme attention to details

Prior facilities and or equipment maintenance experience
Working in an explosion-proof production environment.
Experienced with operating a forklift and pallet jack.
Chemical handling.
